Tranny whining sounds?
 

Ok heres the deal, i know the Evo's first gear makes that awd whinning sound. Well my car in 2nd gear from under 2k rpms to almost 3k whines loud as 1st gear.. Also when im in 1st gear and im coming to a stop and i have the clutch in, i can hear teh tranny whinning, it makes a whoa whoa whoa sound, it does it moslty when the car is barely moving in 2nd gear and it shakes back and forth. Is this normal awd sound or is my tranny getting ready to take a dump? I changed the tranny fluids 2500k miles ago..

how many miles on the car.its has a acd it shouldnt have to manny problems if it does take a dump i hope your the type of person that doesnt mod. so you can get it warrentied through mitsu.

what brand fluids you use may also help.

do you always down shift when you stop?? that can be the case also. just a guess thats all. i know the 03-04 evo with 5 spd. whinnes but 6 spd. does not in any gears.

I like the tranny whine...I think all evo makes tranny whine

Sometimes but not always, and i dont downshift from 1st to 2nd bc it doenst go in, i just put the clutch in and put it in neutral..


I use Penzoil syncromesh fluid for the tranny..The car has 17400k miles

My car whines in first on the downshift, but its done that since I got it so I don't think anythings wrong though, that is the only gear I hear it in.
