JIC's ti-exhaust too short??

lol..I am thinking about getting a Jic's ti-exhaust....but...I was wondering is't too short....cause I heard that most of the exhaust that fits on evo 7 will...be short on evo 8......if someone have jic ti-exhaust already...can you post a closer look pic??...thank.... and when is HKS or other big brand going to make some ti-exhaust??...

It looks like it might be too short. I found these pics on Vivid Racing .

i believe those pics are general pics used by JIC Magic for all their exhausts. So I wouldn't judge by those.

Z1 Performance May 15, 2003 02:58 PM

Yes, it is too short due to differences between the Evo VIII and VII rear bumpers

Thanks for helping me out guys....I guess I will wait a bit for someone to make the ti-exhaust for US V111 ...........

The stock muffler doesn't really hang out the back of the car either. :dunno:

AustinEvo8 May 16, 2003 11:25 AM

Look at the back of you EVO, Even the stock exhaust is too short.
Does it really matter, No.

Coolguy949 May 16, 2003 12:21 PM

The evo 7 JIC exhaust is even shorter than the stock one. What matters is that the heat from the exhaust can stain and/or warp the bottom of the bumper above the exhaust pipe. The HKS evo7 exhaust comes with an adhesive pad you stick on the bumper above the exhaust pipe for just that reason.

The only viable solution I see to that problem is cutting the exaust pipe somewhere after the cat and welding on a 2 inch section to extend the pipe out some more.

I think it matters - I saw the JIC on a car in person....nicely made exhaust (heck, we are a JIC dealer), but it looked like crap on the car IMHO becuase of the shortness

Diesel May 18, 2003 12:17 AM

like he said, you can just cut a section after the cat and extend it the neccesary 2" to work on the EVOIII... of course you'd have to find some titanium pipe to extend it with...

I may just try the Ralliart, and extend it to work on mine... as long as all the mounting points mate up, i'll be ok... I'm not going to be hacking and rigging the thing12 different places to make it work...

Z1 Performance May 18, 2003 06:29 PM

All the moutning points match up on the Ralliart one..its just the difference in rear bumpers that makes all these systems appear "short", as the US bumper and JDM bumper are different units.
