hey man, i had to remove mine when i put in my exedy twin disc racing clutch. i got to words of advise.
1. MOST IMPORTANTLY!! there is an O-ring around the inside of the hole where the shaft sticks out. MAKE sure it stays in otherwise you will be leaking fluid. 2. Make sure it is lined up straight, once it is straight try and slide it in. if it doesnt go in then slide it out a little, turn the shaft a little and then try. if you keep doing this then eventuallly you will get the splines lined up. its a pain but it will happen |

If it leaks it is more than likely that O-ring. Easy to lose, easy not to get in straight. And if its not in it WILL leak. Not really to many places it can leak from, but i would say if it is leaking see where it is leaking from. if it is leaking between a place where it slides in then more than likely it is that stupid O-ring.

Know where I can buy that O-ring? :}
|
there is only one place you can buy that O-ring to make sure it is the right one, "at your local Mitsubishi dealer".
here is a link to a website. click on the link and scroll down to 17. the bottom picture shows you were the 2 O-rings go. one on the transfer case and one on the tranny. |

^^ Thanks :)
