Any Evo's running Zoom clutch?
 

I'm probably going to get one. I was just curious if anyone on here was already running one and how they liked it? They are local to me and I know a few domestic guys who have and really like them. The part number for the one I'm getting is F2134 it's a full Kevlar single disk.

Before some people start with the "get a Tilton, ATS, Exedy, RPS' stuff let me say that the factory clutch has lasted me 50,000 miles, still going strong and, I don't plan on having the car for another 50K. The only reason I'm replacing it is that I'm having my transmission (synchros, input shaft) and TC (noisy, excessive gear lash) rebuilt under warranty. I figure the stock clutch has to be getting close to worn out and what better time to change a clutch then when the dealership is going to have it all ripped apart anyway and I don't have to pay for the labor.

Ive never heard of them before, and while they may have a proven track record in domestics, clutchmasters does as well, and there clutches blow. If its only a temp fix with maybe a little better clamping load, why not go with ACT 2900 system. They are proven, and for the money I cant think of anything to beat it. But the clutch feel is quite aggressive, so if thats not an option, maybe an exedy single disk.

so if the stocker lasted you 50k and you don't plan on keeping it for 50k why not get another stock one?

They are real big with American muscle.

From what the guy was telling the me Kevlar will be a good choice for a daily driver and will take the slipping of the clutch that is required to get the car off the line pretty well. I'm obviously not an avid drag racer or my stock clutch probably would not have lasted as long as it has so, I think it will be fine.

Because since the car had 10K miles on it something in that clutch has rattled like crazy when ever the clutch is out. That and I can get a better deal on aftermarket clutches than I can on stock.

So, anyone running one?

Thats the factory throw out bearing. I think if you get a new OEM the TOB fits and dosent rattle like that.

It still rattles even if you put a new one in, also just for the record so everyone knows the stock TOB is the same one as the one that comes with Exedy and ACT clutches. I have compared them both and they all have the same markings and writing on them. One time one of the TOB's in a ACT clutch kit box still had the Mitsu packaging and part number still on it.

I wasn't sure if it was the throw out bearing or a spring but, I know for sure it's annoying as hell. Nothing like sitting at a light in car that people look at not because it looks good but, more because it sounds like it has rod that it is about to go looking for daylight.

I'm guessing the ZOOM clutch probably uses the factory TOB as well since, it looks like a factory style stamped pressure plate.
