Tilton or Quarter Master
Guys I need to replace my clutch ASAP and I need help on deciding between these two clutches.
I want to know how long the Tilton Twin disk fully ceramic last compared to the Quarter Master twin disk. How is the daily drivability. Please help me out. Also if you guys know a good place to get either one of these for a good price please list it. Thank You {thumbup} |
Hey man...I have(had) a Tilton Hybrid and it lasted about 1 year...my evo is my daily driver with some occasional spirited driving...It probably would have lasted a little longer if my friend didnt burn it up...I just had a local shop take the clutch out and sent it to Tilton to get rebuilt...This time though I am going to go with the twin cerametallic ...the tilton technician said that the organic disc tends to wear out faster and that the majority of buyers are getting the twin cerrametallic...but to answe your question I dont know the life span of the twin cerrametallic because it all depends on your driving habits...hope that helps...

If I was to choose again, I'd get an Exedy HD.

do you have the tilton ?why are you not happy with it |
I can't vouch for the tilton as I have never had it installed on my car.. but I can definately vouch for the Quarter Master Twin. I will admit when you press it it is a bit noisy as most twin's are but.. The actual drivability of it is awesome. It is actually easier and smoother to drive than stock. The pedal is so light it helps make quick shifts possible. I dropped an entire half-second simply by being able to launch the car properly and shifting mad crazy. The funny thing is the clutch goes from 0% grabbing to 50% to 100% it seems.. and when it grips.. it's not letting go.. definately a great clutch. It's my 2nd one. It lasted me an entire year and a half of drag racing. I'm sure with proper wear in and normal driving it will last longer.

Oh and since I noticed you're in chicago. Devo Tuning carries that clutch in case you where wondering.
|
Tilton

I would go with quartermaster your chances of breaking the transfer case are less likely than titlon, but spending 1600 on a clutch is a waste of money.

Stop playing with non full carbon triple plates get a carbonetics you wont be sorry later.
|
tilton.... I don't think his level of mods warrant a carbon triple plate.
jmartinez1170, you're car is waaaaaaaay late. What's the deal? |
Tilton.
