afr's

just installed my wide band and went out and tested it, when i do a 3'rd gear roll
it reads 11.3 when i shif into the next gear it goes to 10.8 ish.
does this sound right ? i never have had a wide band, new to the hole thing. i have a dynoflash mail in flash with numerous other mods
thanks for your time fellas{thumbup}

no

Do you have a blow off valve thats vented to the atmosphere??

superflyevo Mar 17, 2007 01:13 PM

nope
forge recirculated

hopper Mar 17, 2007 03:13 PM

Just a rich tune I guess, Mail in flashes are notoriously conservative. Add more boost and lean it out :)

superflyevo Mar 17, 2007 03:52 PM

i thought the higher the # the leaner it is
i thought 11.5 is a good for pump gas, was expecting more of a 10.5 afr

hopper Mar 17, 2007 07:23 PM

Your right, The higher number the more lean it is on a Lamba gauge, 11.3 is where it should be. maybe a little leaner at peak torque. But your safe. its a little rich but its fat and happy.

yikez Mar 18, 2007 01:14 AM

i got the same readings as well

jestr flash

what's your idle at?

1k rpm i think, mabye a lil over
so what is a good afr on pump gas
whats a good afr on race gas

feautoevo Mar 18, 2007 08:15 AM

I need a wideband

hopper Mar 18, 2007 09:48 AM

Depending on ignition timing and boost anywhere richer than 12.0 is usually safe on pump gas. Race gas is really dependant on what octane race fuel and the tuner that tunes it

If it was my car I would turn it up to 25-26 Psi on c16.

Perfectly normal.
As you go to higher gears, the load increases and falls into a richer scale.
This is what you want since it will take you longer to pull in that gear to the next and you'll want a richer afr's than a leaner one so you won't detonate.
