Cant be too bad,

remove regulator bolts
remove regulator
take smoke break
wipe up gas
install regulator
install regulator bolts
torque them to spec with the value posted in the "how to" section or FS manual purchaced at ebay for $8

stock or aftermarket?

The install will depend on what regulator you get, what fittings you have, etc.

I just installed an adjustable setup from AMS, and it's straight forward if you have all the needed parts.

useless mod

not useless if you are planning on going with a very big set of injectors. Having adjustable static fuel pressure is good tuning tool, when the set-up calls for it.

It sounds like you have an aftermarket, adjustable fuel pressure regulator if you have three ports. No, you don't need to use all 3. You should have two side entry ports, and one port at the bottom of the regulator, and an 1/8" NPT port for a gauge. You only need to use one side port, and plug the other. Fuel from the rail goes into a side port, and out the bottom port to your fuel return hose that goes back to the fuel tank.

Sorry if im way off

dubbleugly01 Apr 18, 2007 08:08 PM

yes, that's right basically. But looking from the front of the Evo at the engine bay, your supply and return are on the wrong ends of the rail. The Evo rail is supplied on the drivers side, and the return is on the passenger side.

Check out this link to a pic of AMS's setup. Hopefully it will give you some orientation on how it's hooked up, use the white handled oil dipstick as a reference point. It's a different regulator, but basically identical to the Aeromotive
