Are you asking because you think there wheel/tire setup has something to do with the power output, or because you have a big hp evo, or because you want a good handling cars?

I assure you 99 percent of the "big" hp evos have ****ty wheel and tire setups.

Im going to get one pair of rims with ultra-summer performance tires and put winter tires on the stock rims. My question though is do the guys with 500, 600, 700hp evo's run 17's or 18's and whats the pro and cons of running each with such high hp. I want 18's but if 17's give better performance such as putting the power to the ground much better than ill get 17's.

17x8 rota

255/45 kumho mx 15-20psi, i hook up on the street with 6k launch, little higher on the track =-)

sticky with soft sidewall, but still firm enough to handle nice

My street setup is Volks CE28N 17X9's with Nitto 245X45 555R Drag Radials. In early January, I ordered a custom set of 15 inch Volks CE28N's. They weigh 9.2 lbs, but as of today, they still haven't arrived. These were for Drags only. One of the main reasons that I still haven't run the car at the track. Other reason is cage, but I'm meeting with a cage builder next week.

I got 3 rim choices in mind but i will be rocking a 17x10 with 275 or 255 denpending on rim for the street and slicks for the track.

17x10 is quite possibly one of the worst choices. It sounds/looks like it would be a sweet setup, however the tallness of the 17 inch diameter tires makes running them a PITA. I run 275 Hoosiers on my 17x9.5s and its preeeeettty tight. Running a 255 on a 10 might stretch it enough to make it fit however.
