Can't boost past 12 lbs! help!
 

last night my boost started acting up. . and now I cant boost past 12lbs. Tried 3 different boost controllers and it still didnt work. . tried running with the lines disconnected (which it should run 30 psi plus)and still would barely boost dont know what the problem is! any ideas?? by the way I changed out the vaccum lines so

nope, even with the lines completly disconnected I cant get past 12lbs and with them disconnected it should go over 30. . Any chance its the spark plus? because I was hitting 22psi just fine 2 days ago and didnt touch anything. .

3 incorrectly installed boost controllers, a leak somewhere else, or a bad wastegate???

Nope no leak, did a leak test. . The only thing, if I had a bad wastegate then how come i can only boost what the wastegate puts out?

Bad wastegate. 12psi is what the actuator is set at from factory. Try to swap it out.

how did you do the test leak.

So it probably is the wategate :( I really dont want to have to buy a new wastegate and install it. Pita.

It could be the wastegate. It could be something else. Just make sure all other options have been explored first before buying one. It would suck to replace it and then find out its not the problem. Dont know what to tell you boss. Good Luck though.

Is your car breaking up or missfiring at all or is it just not boosting past 12 with no other issues?

I have an extra wastegate. I ran into trouble and someone on here was nice enough to give it to me. I ended up getting one from the dealer under warranty though, so now I have two. If you want to try it, you pay for shipping and I'll send it to you.
