So to prevent this from being a freaking life story or anything, here is the just of it.

I just picked up my baby in August. The boost seemed hellish to me at first, but I have absolutely nothing to gauge it by as my last car was a stock(ish) civic. The only mod that I know of is the intake (K&N(possibly knock-off)) and I have added a perrin "boost tube" (UICP). It used to have some sort of injection system (the previous uicp had weld marks on it and there are mounting holes drilled in the trunk for the pump). In any case, i've gotten used to at least driving the car around and just purchased EvoScan today and put that cable to some use. Below are the logs...

This is very likely just a noob issue, but it would appear that it is running almost 50psi! WTF?! Any insight on this would be helpful as I continue to dig through the forum for info.

Perhaps my next mod should be a mbc?

EvoScan has weird figure for boosts. I run at 23psi but it would read 35 all the time. 50psi sounds strange, you might want to buy a boost gauge first or take it to a shop, you can probably buy MBC or EBC at the same time.

and so I thought to myself... why would it read that much boost? Wouldn't the ECU boost limit kick in? Ecuflash reads my currently loaded rom Boost Limit as:

RPM
250
281.25
312.5
255996
136266
255996
136242
42.9688
115199

%
230
230
225
225
225
225
225
225
225

I don't really plan on hitting 255996rpm any time soon. Could this be from some part that was removed from the car? Anyone think that flashing it back to stock would be a bad idea at this point?

Definitely leaning toward the shop thing, but it is helpful to know that Evoscan does weird things with the boost #. I've got a boost gauge to throw on tomorrow to see.

The "MAP" log is not in psi. Your stock MAP sensor is only 1bar, you'd need a JDMMAP (3bar) and adjust EvoScan to log in psi.

Your peak LoadCalc at 3500 is 222, which is probably 20psi.

Find the thread for logging 2 Byte Load and go by that value. In my experience, on a mostly stock Evo, you can approx. divide 2 Byte Load by 11 to get boost in psi, but this is not an exact calculation as load changes based on other elements.

*WHEW* Thanks, my mind is more at ease now... {thumbup}
