HKS Super sequential Vs HKS Super SQV Racing Single Valve

I wouldnt reccomend either

here is what the hks website says:
Similar in construction and function to the new HKS Super SQV, the Super SQV Racing blow off valve uses a large single stage, aluminum pull-type valve to handle the extreme pressure and airflow discharge volume that is associated with high boost / horsepower applications. The Super SQV Racing blow off valve is engineered to accommodate up to 3.0 bar (43.44psi) of boost and can function accurately on vehicles in the 800 horsepower range. The Super SQV Racing blow off valve utilizes the same circular mounting flange and billet aluminum construction as the SSQV to provide outstanding flow and a perfect seal. The new Super SQV Racing blow off valve now includes 2 recirculation fittings in 19mm and 29mm

Don't even think about buying those.

stock diverter valve is fine unless you are running 25+ psi

i've seen alot of people using HKS SSQV on evo without any stalling.

why is it so bad about HKS???

yeah im sure you have seen alot of other cars using them. but not evo's they are junk on evo's which need to stay Recirculated until you deciede to go standalone and in that case get tial or something more reliable.

vroomevo Jan 18, 2008 04:05 PM

is it bad because HKS cannot recirculate?

Hey guys,

As far as I know, you an get the HKS bov with a recirculation kit. The difference between the different bovs are one is made for street, which has two valves, the racing is only a single valve. The people that seem to have the most problems with the bov are the people that are running them to open atmosphere. We've got several cars running the Racing bov with standalone systems (both from HKS and AEM) with absolutely no problems. There are plenty of customers with cars driven daily on the street that recirculate without problems either.

What is the reason behind calling them junk? I hate it when people just say 'JUNK' with no more explanation. I ran one without any problems, granted it was on a wrx but there is nothing wrong with this BOV that I know of. Being a pull type its better than a push type yes??? boost holds it closed so less chance of leaking!

kaonashi Jan 18, 2008 06:50 PM

SEARCH, stop asking why its junk and not worth it.

The point is if you wanted the bov for the noise then waste your money, and spend 300 $ on a bov that is not needed.

zzombae Jan 18, 2008 09:43 PM

I need a bov that can hold 30(+,-5)psi...does HKS ssqv can hold this much boost? Or does it have to be HKS super sqv RACING one to be able to hold this much boost?
my Blitz(w/ stiffest spring) can hold only 29psi..
need help guys~!
