why? what's the reasoning behind it?

chrsevx Jan 26, 2008 03:18 AM

Mivec.

Jameson_IXMR Jan 26, 2008 03:43 AM

It may very well be, but I would really have my doubts. But with enough fabrication, anything is possible.

Man, I hope it will be easy to do and cheap the additional help of mivec on a turbo would be insane for spool up.

you do realize there is a 2006 evo IX that has this right??

you have a better chance in getting the evo 9 head on an evo8 block then u do with that junk that comes on the X to fit onto the evo8

bluebanana23 Jan 26, 2008 11:07 PM

yea but IX has mivec only on the intake side

krazy srt4 Jan 26, 2008 11:17 PM

well the 4b11 if im not mistaken uses a timing chain and not belt so clearance is diffenent

jdmevo8313 Jan 27, 2008 01:27 AM

Is everyone forgetting the fact that the turbo now sits between the firewall and motor? A lot more work than just swapping the head since the cams and tranny sit the same way as previous evo's. Just my 2cents....

This is the most retarded idea possible. You do realize that the 4B and the 4G are reversed? Use your brain alittle bit before you post useless banter on the forums man. USELESS YOU ARE.

supersal Jan 28, 2008 03:49 AM

Isnt the 4B a Chrysler motor as opposed to a true blue 4G Mitsu Powerplant?

.

KeithD Jan 28, 2008 09:54 AM

Krazy srt4,
you are correct the X uses a timing chain
I don't know why some people waste our time with a stupid question like this. If you want intake and exhaust MIVEC then buy an Evo X. This idea is insane and would cost more money than it is worth. If you have that kind of money put it tward somingthing more useful that will make you more power. If you want more spool build a stroker.

joseph k Jan 28, 2008 09:57 AM

the 4b i think may be a chrysler motor

all-alloy straight-4 engines built at Mitsubishi's Japanese "World Engine" powertrain plant in Shiga on the basis of the Global Engine Manufacturing Alliance (GEMA)
