ebay clutchs

I was looknig on ebay and there is plenty of clutch kits that are pretty cheap compared to normal..for exmaple

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ACT-H...em110224651975

and then theres exedy ones for under 300 new. Whats the deal? is it safe to buy these?

just remember.....

"you get what you pay for!"

You have a 35k car, dont be so cheap.

goodluck

The cheap exedy ones you found are about the same if not just slightly better than the stock oem clutch you already have. Meaning, it might not be much of an upgrade, if you decide to any kind of racing or some sort. Daily driving duties would be fine though.

Ebay is always a hit or miss, depending on the vendor. Why not try one of the vendors here? I bought my ACT street and Xact flywheel from NoLimit and got a really good deal on the combo. And it was better than an Ebay vendor who had decent prices. Believe me, I searched everywhere.

I was just wondering if they were the same products...or knock offs..thanks guys

I'd rather pay for piece of mind.

~EVILEVO~ Feb 15, 2008 11:51 AM

yeah i think your better off looking for a deal here from a vendor then risk a problem with ebay. (i.e. wrong parts ect.)

The only ebay vendor I would really trust, besides some people here who happen to use ebay as an outlet (trustz ect.) is SpeedClinic, I have gotten some defi stuff from them no problem, and has a phone number to call!

kaonashi Feb 15, 2008 12:57 PM

thats the real deal ive bought the same clutch kit from him before, its real act clutch too no the exedy one they use to send you with it.

the MB7-hdss is the right kit for a 5spd evo.

I rarly have a problem with ebay, i think that clutch is what the ACT goes for, infact i know I can find it cheaper than that. the Exedy clutchs im sure are the OEM clutch. Remember Stock evo clutch = exedy

evilempire76 Feb 15, 2008 01:52 PM

Just hit up some of the vendors on here if you looking for a good deal on a clutch. They can beat the price on that ACT clutch you have linked from ebay.

The Exedy Stage 1 has a very heavy pedal. It's got more 40% more holding power tha stock. Drivability is poorer than stock. Overall, I'll get another clutch next time. I Got mine from Gruppe S, Great Service, fast shipping.

We just installed/fixed a botched install of the new Carbon Kevlar Fidanza clutch on a friend's 03, the car was suffering from flywheel fitment issues but this clutch is a darling. It's a sprung hub 4 puck but it drives easier than stock.

There are several vendors on here that will sell you that same ACT MB7-HDSS clutch for around $500. Just PM a few vendors for pricing.
