Ques on Sequential BOV's
wussup guys, i am new to turbos and bov's and am soon getting an evo8...i was reading on project evo about the diff bov's on letting it vent out compared to the recirculating ones...have u guys with the vta ones experienced lots of problems? which is better in ur opinion..getting the loud whoooshhh and having sum problems or getting the recirculating bov's and getting the open element intake system to make the bov louder?? one more ques...can u guys pleaseeee explain the sequential bov? i love the way it sounds over all other bov's but is it good/bad for the engine/car..? which is better in ur opinion?!? thanx guys.... :helpme:

If you are looking for performance you would want the recirculating BOV, since it will keep the air your MAS has already counted in the system.
If you want noise, then get the open BOV. If we had a MAP sensor it would be a different story perhaps. |
just get a cone filter
That way you can hear the woosh with a recirculating BOV |
I have heard an Evo with an RMR cone filter and the STOCK BOV, and it is quite loud. A strong 'wooooosh' sound, you can definitely hear it outside the car even when rolling.

i just installed the HKS SS BOV... so far no issues... it does sputter a little bit- and only once or twice so far- at idle, but it hasnt stalled yet. did yours do the same thing- i mean, work at first, then develop the problem? or was it an issue right away? also, lol i know alot of ??'s, how did you correct the issue ( please dont tell me another BOV..) i heard some ppl talk about a grounding kit? thanks! |
