The baddest EVO 9 pump gas we've built.

Today was an interesting day. We put Jeff's car on the dyno and I have quite a bit of time in it.

The car is a 2006 EVO9. Here are the specs:

BR 2 liter, standard bore, aluminum rods
BR Stage 3 head
Cosworth cams
BR header kit with HTA88 turbo (HTA37R if you wish to call it that)
HKS Ignition
BR Race FMIC
BR 3" turbo back
BR upper and lower i/c pipes
BR battery kit
BR mustache bar
BR center member
BR diff mounts
BR double pumper
1200 cc injectors
AEM EMS
BR manual boost controller
Driven Innovations intake manifold
BR 65mm throttle body

The turbo is on the lazy side for me. 20 psi takes place at 5600 rpm. Up top though it keeps making power all the way to 9,000 rpm, which is where I ran it to on the dyno. Keep in mind this car has straight 93 octane fuel in it, no octane boosters, nothing.

It was tuned at 30 psi of boost, AFR's 11.3-11.4:1 under boost.

This is the smoothest engine I have ever tuned. Nothing is different than any of the others I have built but it is unbelievably smooth. I swear you could sit a full glass of water on the dash and run the car there without spilling a drop.

This is also the first time I have had an EVO9 over 500 whp on our dyno on pump gas.

Here's the dyno sheet:

Dave, You think the Alu rods had any impact on why the engine runs so smoothe?

Those are some potent #'s, I'm sure the owner will be more than happy.

nice power.. It climbs all the way to redline w/o dropping off which has to feel good on the street.. congrats!!

slikdzigns Apr 23, 2008 01:15 PM

Leave it to the Buschur team to blow everyone away every time! Congrats!

I don't think the aluminum rods give the engine the feeling it has, I have them in my car and quite a few others we have built. It is freaking smooth though.

The car is running the Driven Innovations intake manifold with our 65 mm throttle body on it.

Race gas numbers we will be getting on Friday. Jeff and maybe Indy EVO are coming down and I am going to tune it on race gas then. Jeff wants to learn the AEM so he wants to be here for that.

Can I come to the party? Can't, but I wish I could.
