help with dtc's
 

i have 2 codes for my o2 sensor.. one being heater and the other, circuit... i first had all o2 sensor codes because when installing my new o2 housing my stock sensor was welded/fused in there, so i had to get a universal one asap, and the wiring wasn't color coded with my clip, so i wired it wrong..... anyways.. i got a new o2 sensor and now i get the heater and circuit codes... i checked fuse#8 and its fine... wat could it be??
P.S. when i wasnt runnin a proper o2 sensor, my gas milage was horrible.. with this one its back to normal, so i know its working and my ecu is reading it....

anyone?

are u still using the aftermarket o2 sensor? also are the wires u cut still in the vehicle?

i got a sensor from oxygensensor.com... made for my car... the wires i cut were from the stock one... so the clip under the sparkplug cover is untouched... jus cut the old wire and wired the connector to the universal one that i did wrong...

hm well it seems the senso is correct judging by what you said however im a little confused about the wireing. what i am trying to say is that if you have wires still on your vehicle for your 02 sensor that have been cut (even if they are currently repaired) the signal from the 02 sensor is so percise that as soon as you cut the wire your ecu will never get correct readings due to increased ohms across the repaired section of wire. replace any wires that have cuts in them and get conectors that plug into eachother properly like factory.

think of it like this.... i took the sensor completel;y off.... holding the sensor in my hand with the clip on it, i cut THAT... to wire that stock clip on the new sensor.... which was wrong, so i got a REAL sensor made for my car.... i hate having to type things like this out! its so much better to understand if i was talking! haha but u seem like u mite have a solution! haha

also my new o2 has factory everything.... no cuts... factory o2 sensor.. so its as if everything ive said never happened

lol. ok now i understand. so all your wires ARE complelty fine as well as the conectors. i just had to make sure of that first before further daignosis. things like this are difficult to diagnose unless you have a mitsu scanner and can watch the signals from the o2 sensor and compare them to spec. what exhaust system are you running and are you sure u replaced the correct sensor

yes correct sensor.. and i have RRE Stealth exhaust with invidia o2, dp, tp....

are you sure you aren't throwing a code now for the post cat o2 since you have a test pipe

also any posible exhaust leaks, like from your downpipe donut gasket?

i have a wideband in my tp, with the cell or code eliminated... i am positive i dont have exhaust leak... the thing tho is the heater code.... the only probable cause is bad sensor, which isnt the case, or blown fuse, which i checked....

hm. thats tough man. posible bad new sensor or and open somewehre in the wire leading to your 02. there really isn't to much else to check. an o2 sensor system is not to complex as long as there is correct exhaust and electrical flow through the sensor. i think i might be out of ideas. hopefully somebody else will chime in but i think you will need a mitsu scanner to diagnose this. i am gettin offline but will think of this problem and post if i think of anything later. good luck

are the wires the same gauge? get a schematic and check wiring again
