What's this/wrong?

After driving today, I pulled into the garage, shut off the car and heard a hissing noise coming from under the car. I jacked it up and found where it was coming from. What is this and what's wrong? Looks like its on the bottom of the radiator and was leaking very slightly, right next to the licp. Sorry for the crappy iphone pics.

Well, the pics aren't the best but it just looks like the rubber isolators that the bottom "pegs" of the radiator sit in. They're basically just rubber bushings...they don't do anything except hold the radiator in place at the bottom. I'm thinking that wasn't the source of the sound. Perhaps the noise you heard was a small leak where the licp meets the intercooler?

Yes it is odd but if i put my hand over the rubber piece, the hissing almost completely goes away (although there is still some hissing). If it helps, after 15 min or so, it stopped.

Did you run your A/C after this incident? Could this be the drip valve?

Hard to see, need better pics...

I did run the A/C before and when I shut the car off, I heard the hissing. Doesn't it A/C drip further back where the tie bars are? This was from the front (right next to the licp). I saw the water dripping as well but the hissing I never heard before until today. Looks like it was hissing as well as dripping a tiny bit (not sure if it was water or coolant though)

Thats The Bottom Support For The Radiator You Could Have I Leak Between The Rruber And The Radiator Thats Why When You Put Ur Hand Over It It Goes Away And The Ac Drain Is On The Firewall.

The sound hasn't come back for a couple of days now but I havent used my a/c either. When I turned on my a/c today, the air wasn't cold. Any ideas?

yea sounds like u blew an a/c line. take the a/c out and save wieght if u can. however i see u live in texas and probably wont want to.

compscibOi Jul 2, 2008 08:25 PM

Yep sounds like your A/C lines need recharged and or they have a leak in them.

the_window Jul 2, 2008 11:53 PM

Alright thanks for the replies, and yeah I do need my A/C :)
