throw out bearing removal
this is impossible! we cant get the pivot arm out. the bell housing blocks us from hammering away to knock it out so we can replace the throw bearing. any suggestions

My first clutch I changed, the thing popped right off. The second clutch I changed (exedy S1) it didn't. Spent 3 hours with dremel extension and carbide bit cutting the retainer clip that locks. Need to find the thinnest place on it to cut through it. It's a pain doing it through a 1.5 inch hole. Were goggles and a headlamp

i dont think you talking about the same thing we are
Are you talking about the brass round cover?

we need the red arrow bolt to go up like the black arrow. but there is no way to pound from underneath

The brass plug needs to come out and it will allow it to come out. Find the right size socket (I think 10 or 11mm, it's been a while) and knock it out first.

... or maybe I misunderstood. If you really can't get the leaverage to get it moving, you have to get creative with what you have. I started it with a socket extention and a dead blow hammer. Then continued knocking at it with long needle nose pliers.

we have the pivot arm peeking through the top hole. and its stuck. we did all that
use a hook tool to pull up on it from the top. I also use a short punch and tap it from the bottom. Make sure you lube it, will make the job a lot easier

3.5 hours on this one ****ing part!!
try using the slide hammer, its just about out...with it being that high, if you keep it lubed it should push right out with your fingers
a TINY bit of heat on the aluminum where it goes into might help some. Again, its aluminum, so it doesn't take much!
6 hours. no luck. we have used heat. nothing
Man, I have never had that problem. I would do what some others have suggested. Hammer it back down and put grease/lube all over that opening and on the metal rod. Then try moving it up. If that doesn't do it, a small torch with some heat on the opening. GL
