Car sputters, dies out, then won't start...
Yet another EVO not starting, I went thru this site all of last night and this morning, and guess what? The famous search button didn't help :(
Ok so I posted about a week ago that I had a fuel issue where my secondary pump went south at the dragstrip, and my primary died out on me on my way home. Troubleshooting the cause of my car shutting down, I found that my primary pump was not flowing any fuel (disconnected fuel return line while cranking showed no fuel whatsoever). So the following day I go buy two new 255's and install them and viola the car started with out any problems. Problem solved you might think right? Wrong! Yesterday while warming up my car I decided to check my timing. So after it was at operating temperature I setup my AEM timing map to 0 (zero) degrees to make sure it would be at zero degrees with my timing light. The engine stalled, so I said allright I leave the timing at 5 degrees so it won't stall again. The car started but stalled, once more. Cranked it up again, no sighs of starting. Checked the coils and no spark, so I took out the coils and swapped it with a friends. My coils started his car but his would not start mine. So, at this point i'm thinking my AEM went dead :crap: . Swapped the AEM EMS and it started my friend's EVO, so that is out of the question. Today I put the AEM back in, it started but died out in about 10 seconds. Checked all the connectors in the front kick panel, plus fuses, and no corrosion or burnt fuses, so??? Would the immobilizer have anything to do with this even though the stock ECU is no longer in use? Any help will be appreciated. |
