hey guys,

installed FP red.

mods are as below except have a red instead of green now.

want to switch to E85. going to get 1000 or 1200 cc injectors. stock ecu car.

do i need br double pumper? or can i get to 450ish awhp safely on a single walbro?

ams will be tuning the car, their only options for bigger fuel is there 1400 dollar 1000 hp set up, or a 700 dollar dual pump with surge tank option. id rather just do a br double pumper then all that, however can i get away with just larger injectors and getting tuned?

You will need to do a double pumper. I'm running 1000cc Precisions and a single walbro 255 on the stock turbo at 29 psi and my IDC is at about 90%....all on E85 of course.

are 1600cc precisions overkill? i can get them for the same price as 1000's

you should get an AEM EMS, and go for 1600cc's to be safe.

you wont need the 1600, definitely overkill. 1000cc with a dual pumper and you will be fine probably in the 70% IDC range

An AEM EMS is not needed, and neither are 1600s. It takes all of one minute to retune the factory ECU to run cleanly on E85, and 1000cc injectors are fine for 450whp.

A Walbro 255lph unit, just dropped into the factory wiring harness with no other changes, will just barely deliver enough for 450whp, and will begin showing the reduction in line pressure as elevated IDC. The double pump setup is the most convenient option. And if you do go that route, you probably want to go a little bit larger on the injectors just so that you're not limited by injector headroom if you decide to push it a little harder.

Maybe a stupid question guys but do you need to change your fuel lines to run E85?

No. Add pump,injectors,tune and you're good. Check/replace your fuel filer after a couple tanks of E85..

i doubt you will NEED a twin fuel pump setup...

i have seen 1 walbro support very high 600whp, ams 37r kit, built 2.0l (on accident, one of the pumps wasnt wired up right), no problems, untill beyond ~36psi, c16....

I have also seen a couple 30r evo's around 28-32psi on c16 running 1 walbro with 1000cc, with no issues either, both made a little over 500whp, one built motor, one stock bottom end.

But I probably would go with a twin fuel pump setup for the Red, 30r, or bigger, just in case, especially with e85...

Just stay away from RC 1200's the won't flow 1200cc's unless you up the base fuel pressure to 55psi.

I have found big turbo cars do not need a dual pumper set-up untill they pass 550 range on e-85! But the greens and reds need a double pumper for e-85, because they come on some much sooner and need so much more fuel to supply for the torque that the smaller turbos have!

I'll squash that one right there. I guarantee you that you WILL need a dual pump set-up to run E85 with a FP Red, plain and simple, no questions. You need more fuel when running E85 than you do when running C16.

walbros start to have issues at around 580whp, so you are totally fine on 450 range. Keep in mind that e85 weighs less and your walbro will flow more as a result. I have been running 550 range on 1000cc densos and a single walbo for over 8 months now on a steady diet of e85 and 24 psi tapering to 23:

I don't think you will NEED a dual fuel pump setup but it will help. This guy over on SCE is making 490 WHP on a single Walbro and 1200s and just other normal bolt ons.
