ACT Clutch Q's
 

I am getting a clutch in the very near future, but need to know what one is the best for me. I am looking to go FP red on e85 in the future, but nothing over that. So my question now is what clutch kit should i get from ACT.

2100, 2600, 2900? street disk, 6 puck? stock flywheel, act flywheel, fidanza flywheel? sprung or unsprung?

I really am stuck. Right now I was looking at the Heavy Duty (2100) 6 puck sprung clutch kit and just use stock flywheel. Driveablility issues will be an issue, but not huge. I would prefer sprung because I have driven unsprung and I just hate it :lol:

Please help me out guys, and if you know the best place to get it that would help as well

Look into the Stage 4 CCI clutch. ALOT lighter pedal feel then the ACT 2800 6 puck at only 350$, MAPerformance has them real cheap right now. Check your Pm

I went with the ACT 6 puck sprung, HD pressure plate, stock flywheel. No problems, and I got it all at MAperformance. The clutch pedal adjustment, solid upper piece clutch line, and front motor mount fixed me up nice.

where did u get the clutch line and motor mount from? And if you dont mind me asking, how much did they charger you for the clutch kit from maperformance? That is the exact setup I think m going, so I jsut want to get everythign straight.

First, there is NO such thing as a 2100, 2600 or 2800 etc. for an Evo. Those are DSM terms (not used by us) that do not accurately describe the clamp on the products we make for an Evo or any other car for that matter. Considering that the stock clamp load on the Evo pressre plate is approx. 2600 lbs. there's no reason for us to sell something that has less clamp load than stock.

Now that we have that out of the way :), how much torque do you need the clutch to hold? What type of driving do you do with the car, drag racing, street driving, autocross? If you provide a bit more information I'd be more than happy to provide a recommendation.

i go to the track alot, and not that aggressive of a driver. I want something to hold around like mid 500's or so. I was recommended 6 puck HD pressure plate, and then use the stock flywheel. What is your guys pricing on that. I already got a quote by a couple companies so Im trying to get the best price I can.

Well if you're looking to hold that much torque at the wheels and you drive on the streets the HDG6 (sprung 6 puck street disc with HD pressure plate) would be the way to go. It's a bit harsher than our strret disc but it will hold up to a lot more heat and abuse.

You can use the stock flywheel if it's in good condition since they are pretty light to begin with. If you need to replace the flywheel our Streetlite would be a good option since it's thicker than the stock one to resist warping, just as light and resurfaceable unlike aluminum flywheels.

As far as prices go your best bet are the vendors on here or our list of authorized dealers on our website. As the manufacturer we only sell at MSRP because we do not want to compete with our dealers (although that would be very easy) that buy, stock and hopefully service you the customer. It's also why we have a manufacturer title and not a vendor title. Let me know if you have any other questions.
