Battery in trunk

I plan in upgrading my uicp and it requires me to have a small battery, I feel more comfortable if I just relocate my battery into my trunk....

I seen a couple of relocating kits the just have the battery bolted down in the trunk- is that safe? or should I try to get an enclosure for the battery?
thanks in advance

Enclosed would be best.

If you want to go the cheaper route, just get a box from advance auto or the such.

ebay has some cheap boxes/trays, and you can just buy the cable pretty much any where. I have mines bolted right to the trunk with a tray from ebay and iam WAY happeir with it there vs. my old mini battery..

I think I just want a small one up front. Too many cables running all over, the meth is enough I think.

It's just one cable, power cable.

Get something to enclose the battery and make sure it's secure. The enclosure is for battery acid and make sure it's bolted down properly so it doesn't fly all over the place.

I have that Summit kit that Chaotichoax posted. I love it.

i've been thinking about putting my battery in the trunk...but isn't if you have a battery in the trunk you can't run at the drag strip, no matter your ET time, unless you have a cut off switch mounted on the rear bumper?

I've made countless passes at the strip with either no battery tie down, or zip ties at most. Not enclosed either.

I've heard something like that though. Maybe it just depends on where you go and how strict they run things.

I've never understood the mini battery idea. All it does is attempt to resolve a problem by potentially creating another problem.

The best solution is to get the battery out of the engine compartment completely. Shifting the weight of the battery from front to rear is beneficial to the weight distribution of the car, and represents a net shift of 2X the weight of the battery. Not to mention, it creates the most additional space in the engine compartment, and you won't be saddled with a puny battery that is undersized for the application.
