Precision Injector Users Using E85 Beware
Just got some good intell from AMS as my car is up there getting worked on for "09", they where checking everything thing over as a good shop would do and ran into a little issue. It seems that the E85 has eaten up the hoods on the Injectors and disrupting the flow pattern. But hears the catch they have only been on the car for about 3K miles using E85. Now precision is going to warrenty these but will more then likely not any more. So if you have or are running E85 and using Precision Injectors I would recomend checking them out just to be safe. Oh and BTW AMS is offering new Injectors from Deatschwerks that are supposed to able to run methanol and E85 safely and also come with a 1 year warrenty, which I am switching to. Thanks for reading {thumbup}

I have around 2 years/7000 miles on my Blue Top 1600's running E85. Were your PTE's blue tops? So far I've noticed no issues with mine. But I am contemplating sending them in to be checked out by PTE themselves.
On other boards, some people have found "sludge build-up" on the ends of their injectors after using E85. No one appears to really know what it is that's building up, or what the root cause of the build up is. I'm very curious to find out though... |

You know I dont recall what color the ends where...Id also like to know if poss. these where just defective? Any how Im switching to the others offered by AMS. Did you notice any driveabilty issues with your 1600's? |
Precision, like every injector seller you know, does not make their own injectors. The best thing you can do is disclose exactly which injectors you had, and find out from Precision who the manufacturer is. Then we have something to discuss.
