Over Rev on shifts, who's got the answer?
 

Allright, I have searched through the forums a good bit on this subject. I have an 06 IX, 5-speed. And it suffers the 300-500 RPM rev when I mash the clutch to shift. It doesn't do it all the time. Some days it acts fine. Some days it just takes a spell and over-revs on almost every shift.

Seems to be a lot of varied opinion on this issue, but it seems to also be a common issue. Could a sticking BOV valve cause this? I am on the stock IX valve.

And I have been driving straight shifts for 25 years, so please none of the 'take your foot off the gas' remarks neccesary.

I think you have your answer in the last sentence of your post ;) Seriously though, there were a few locals complaining about this and it came down to their driving style and nothing wrong with the car.

Have you done a boost leak test? What mods do you have? Its not your BOV.

Only mods at this point are a drop in filter, underhood shifter bushing kit and clutch (CCI Stage 2).

My only problem with saying it's driving style is this. It doesn't always do it. And when I have noticed it happening I have played around with lifting my gas foot well ahead of pushing the clutch and it still happens.

No boost leak test yet. I have my first round of mods ready to go on and I planned on doing one at that point.

Isn't there a rpm match people are getting in their tune? It keeps the revs up when you shift. I think I remember this from a couple years back.

Is it possible your tuner put this in without you knowing?

does it occurs when you only up shift? if so, this is called "throttle hang", there are plenty of info available, you just have to search under the right term. obviously you are not active on the forum that's why you don't know
