Car cranks but won't start, Check Engine light blinking...
Hey guys,
I'm having a big problem with my car. It all started on Friday, I drove the car to the airport to pick a business partner up, on the way back I was doing a little bit of spirited driving, went through a toll, and stopped for gas. It was one of those gas stations right beside the highway so when you're leaving the gas station you immediately have to merge into a bunch of traffic....well, no one was leaving a lane opened for me or giving space for me to merge, so from the stop sign I 2 stepped and launched the car into the lane and merged into traffic...about 2 seconds into the launch the car started sputtering and turned off on me. I tried to turn it back on but it would only crank and not start, the check engine light is also being really weird, it's blinking on and off pretty quick. I got the car towed back home and reset the ecu to see if it would help, but the car still won't turn on. Any ideas of what the problem could be? Here are my mods: AMS GT35R 880cc Injectors AMS Fuel Rail Walbro 255lph Kelford 272 Exhaust Cam Kelford 272 Intake Cam AMS Full Turbo Back Exhaust AMS FMIC Upper IC Piping w/ HKS BOV AMS Small Battery Exedy Twin HD Clutch Evo Throw out Bearing Profec-B Spec 2 Boost Controller AEM EMS Standalone |
Did you get the code scanned?

u became a victim of the dirty water gas pump.... This just happened to my buddy.. syphon out some gas in a clear baggy and you will not like what u see
|
i worked on couple car had the same problem...crank and no start no matter what...found bad gas in tank....water in tank...i would disconnect the fuel line and crank car couple time to pump some fluid in a bottle...let it set for a while and see if there is any water in the gas

Did you check to see whether you broke a timing belt?
Just trying to help rule out the basics and the symptoms you mentioned in the OP are timing belt ones. Just take the oil cap off, shine a torch in there and get someone to crank the car and see if the sticks are turning. |
I went to take some gas out of the tank, so I unscrewed the 12mm screw on the bottom, and just my luck the ****in thing falls right into the bottle and I spill gas all over my garage...FML lol
Gas looks fine =\ |
Finicky crank sensor perhaps? I had this happen to me once and it turned out to be a bunch of metal shavings caught in the crank sensor that was screwing up the signal. I'd say to pull a plug out and leave it connected to the coil, ground out the base of the plug, and see if you have spark first. The motor needs 3 things to run...air, fuel, and spark. Figure out which one is missing and you should be good (and more than likely it's not air lol).

ok...the check engine light stopped blinking. the gas now primes, but I get no spark. I'm also unable to connect to the AEM =\

If the timing was off or the belt was broke It would turn over real fast a nd u would be able to tell.

thats what you get for 2 stepping and launching your car to merge
my vote would be water in your fuel, bad gas is the culprate. fill up with 100, 110 octane to clean things out. |
