P0401 code with weird noise

Yes i know there are threads here with the P0401 code Insufficient EGR Flowand i have read most of them but it still hasnt solved my problem. I checked all the lines and they seem to be on the right locations, none of them popped off.

Whenever i go into boost though I hear a nasty leak sound and its pretty damn loud. It sounds kinda like a squeel as if the vacuum line has a small leak and air is escaping but im not exactly sure whats going on. Boost is still somewhat the same but drivability has changed a slight bit. The car normally is pretty responsive, but now its less responsive.

Any Input/Questions regarding is greatly appreciated.

Anyone local not on SCE willing to come check it out is more than welcome as well

located in Whittier, CA

Like oldevodude said check the hoses under and behind the throttle body. It's really small and thin like a piece of spagetti. I'll bet you that is your 401. It's happened to me twice. Since then I have zipped tied it and no more 401.

do a boost leak test

HaVoK23 Jun 7, 2009 10:03 PM

Take it to RRE....they'll figure it out

I know help us out!!

S2myEvo Jun 9, 2009 03:12 AM

since it was so simple ill tell you guys. LOL

basically what happened, was the one of my intercooler pipes was ripped. it was ripped right where it meets the throttle body. all i did was cut the IC hose, refitted and voila! back to normal!

so check your IC hoses!!! make sure theres no tears in it!
