How Long did your stock clutch last

I’m at 47k on the stock clutch and it’s starting to slip under boost. My question is when did you replace your stock clutch due to failure or impending failure. Did you drive this car like an evo or like a Cadillac? How did it fail? (gradually or catastrophically)

53k, i got it around 52k so before me i dunno, i drove it like an evo. it was pretty catastrophic i felt it slip a few times in 1 day so i ordered a new clutch next day it was still there but had to drive on it till new clutch came in, third day i go out to leave for work and car wouldnt move an inch i had to get it towed and wait for clutch to come in.

Mine was done around 30k. I tracked it more than i drive it daily, so that's why. :( Stock Clutch SUCK ass for tracking (Time Attack) and especially if you have anything over 350whp. :X Yikerz....mind as well get a new clutch when i got the car, haha!

But yeah, usually stock clutch can last a LONG time if you don't track, launch your car, drive stupid or have Gnar horse power. You can last up to 60k+ if you CAN! :D

mine was good for about 100K then i took it to the track twice and it went out.

well i drive 160 miles round trip for work. so it only took me about 2yrs to get to 100k, and that doesnt include all the vacations to NC i took and everywhere else i drive. i didnt take it to the track till then and then put in the ACT HD clutch.

Right now i am at just over 164K miles and have had no major problems. {thumbup}:mitsu:

LOL changing fluids every 10K ??? FYI -- Not sure if your stealership is giving you bad info, but changing the fluids won't increase clutch life....

Stock clutch should last at least 40K miles if you are not dragging / racing the car and don't have much more than 300 wtq...My clutch starting going at around 40K miles which is when my tq started creeping above 350 ft lbs...

There are several factors that will kill a clutch - (1) power and (2) how you drive / use the car...

24k miles on my stocker. Quite a few passes at the track. No sign of slippage. 28psi daily driving, no sign of slippage. The second I added cams and evo 9 turbo, it slipped right away at 22psi. I had to take it out right away as I couldnt even do a full 3rd gear pull without it slipping.

I understand its overkill, but its a hell of a lot cheaper than buying a new clutch. I've been sitting at 300hp/tq for awhile now, and just feel more comfortable with that maintenance schedule.

I change out the diff fluid on that same schedule. Easier to just do it all while I"m under the car.

41K with 15 passes at the 1/4 track and an autocross event every month for the last three years.
