Throw out bearing won't lock into retainer clip...
 

Hey guys I just changed the discs on my Exedy twin and I'm sort of frustrated right now because this was my first Evo swap and the fork won't lock into the retainer clip. I looked through the inspection hole and the fork pushes the TOB into the retainer clip, but it won't lock. When I took off the TOB I didn't notice there being a c-clip for the TOB to engage to the retainer. I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to drop the tranny again, not a big deal second time around it's going to be cake. However I was wondering if anyone know's the part number for the c-clip or if anyone carries one that I can get this week. Thanks.

STM has just the clip, wavy springs, and ring you are looking for on their site.

The wavy clip is in there and compresses when I'm moving the fork, however it won't lock into place.

Well come Friday I'll find out what's going on. I called STM and they provided great help. Corey suggested I get a retainer clip and TOB, but couldn't positively diagnose the problem, which is understandable because it's hard to know a problem if you can't see it. He said that if the c-clip isn't in there then the retainer clip wouldn't stay in place.
