AVO's plug-n-play piggy back

Has anyone heard of AVO's plug-n-play piggy back? Brainstorm is supposed to be getting those in on the 3rd of December, and their $700.

I had originally wanted to go with the XEDE, and am still leaning towards it, but the AVO unit seems like it may be a better deal, since it it 200 cheaper, completely plug-n-play (no wire pulling and replugging), and is user programmable as well.

keep us updated im very interested and im looking for something like that . I was planning to run the Xede also but is a long trip to go all the way to pleaseant and have shiv tune it , to get the best gains ...

yeah tell me about it. When Brainstorm gets them in, i am going to have my car dynoed again, once with only my 3" turboback, and once with the turboback PLUS the avo piggyback. Ill post it up here, but if anyone else has any info on the AVO in the meantime, feel free to post.

Hey man how much is Roshon charging for the tuning of the avo? and is he almost done with the new shop?

alex_alex Dec 1, 2003 07:00 PM

december 3rd is when its done, and im not sure how much he will charge to tune the AVO computer. He doesn't think it wlil need any addt'l tnuing with just a 3" turboback.

So the base map is that good? Any word on how much for the piggyback?

alex_alex Dec 1, 2003 09:17 PM

yeah, $695, but ill post some dyno charts on here of my 3" turboback, and then the turboback with the AVO piggyback...should have then in a week or so

i had a talk with him , its by APS and not AVO . You can see it on the APS package that he offers that includes the piggy back . The map should be enough for the turbo back 3' exhaust .
Im also thinking of getting that or the AEM , but i dont plan to change the stock Turbo , well at least not for a while ...

Alex did you also hear about the Dyno day that he is going to have in about a week or 2 . Im not sure if theyer going to do Dynoflash or Brainworks .

If it's from APS, the system is based around the Unichip. FWIW, we're a Unichip dealer ourselves and, unless things have changed, the Unichip itself is only tunable by Unichip dealers. This means that it is not user-programmable as it requires proprietary software and a tuning module.

Thats good info to know Shiv. BTW, when are you having your dyno day in LA?

I also have a question for you about the XEDE. My only reservation is that it isn't completely plug-n-play, having to do a little wire pulling here and there. This hasn't changed in the last several months has it?

and GOKU, i'd wait on the AEM, seems like everyone thats using it is having random problems here and there, not to mention the fact that having it tuned isn't exactly cheap...

perfworks Dec 2, 2003 05:08 AM

We are tuning the AEM as we speak for the EVO8 . I dont see any issues at all. In fact it is going very smoothly.
I had heard alot about isssues with the unit. But to this point none have shown up as problems.
