Kinugawa 25g turbo thread

Hello. A few weeks install this turbo for my Evo 5. I have a problem of pressure but will be adjusted for 30psi peak and 26psi to redline. Now boost is 21psi all the time.
The engine is:

2.0L Forged, Evo 8 MR Cams,Intake 80mm, Exhaust 3" and E85 pump.

I hope you like !!

first graph:

this is interesting. cause that is no 25g copy of mitsu wheel. that compressor wheel is 5 blade!

the torgue curve looks awesome. but the hp curve looks like its not from same run. something is not right with those numbers.

do you have a link where you got turbo from?

todd6027 Dec 19, 2011 04:12 AM

what are you using to control boost ??

like this

Yea, we need to see a better graph. However, if the torque numbers are true and correct, thats pretty damn good then. lol 300 ftlbs shortly after 3500 and 400 ftlbs just after 4000.

This is the link:

The graph is in 3r gear. I have to do another test with more boost,28-30psi max.

Use a AEM boost controller and 22 psi wastegate.

The fuel is not full E85 tank. Aprox 60% mixing.

BigT Dec 19, 2011 04:00 PM

so 21psi netted you 520 wtq and 441 whp? Can you be more specific with your mods? What are you tuning with? why aren't your hp and torque crossing at 5252rpm?

Grinder31 Dec 19, 2011 04:43 PM

Yeah that dyno graph doesn't match up. The math for hp = (2*pi*(torque)*RPM)/33000 which would make him 525 hp at 5252 not whatever is shown on that graph. It would also equate to 599.76 hp at 7k RPM and not the 450 it is close to in that graph...

The Graph is a HP at the flywheel and the torque is in NM {thumbup}

He mirado GSC 2, BC Stage 2, o bien PiperCams de 274º.

Un saludete !!!!

Can we do English, please, so we all can join in on the discussion?

JSPturbo Dec 20, 2011 01:23 PM

Yes, Sorry for the off topic :)

The Stock Cams will be a problem maybe. This week try again with 27psi of boost. GSC2 cams is great option for best results.

So the compressor inlet in that Kinugawa turbo is 80 mm? It would be interesting to see a Virtual Dyno plot set to dynojet and whp. How does it drive, much laggier than the stock turbo?

Thanks for posting,

Ricardo

Hello. this is the graph on virtualDyno: The inlet is 80mm.

Note the response is somewhat slower, maybe i lost 500-700rpm for full spool.

The power, is at the engine in the graph.
