BBK-Full DD best cam GSC s1,s2 ,Kelford??

Hey guys i really stuck between a few cam choices. GSC S1,S2, or kelford 272's. My car is my DD basic bolt-ons BBK-Full,3" TBE, ETS 3.5 FMIC, and gold old meth injection mixed with 91oct. Right now iam running buddyclub 272's and i think thers power to be had with better cams. I really wanted to wait off on the valve spring upgrade untill i can do a full build witch was leading me towards the S1's. I heard people run kelfords with stock springs fine but i dont really want to. S2's it a must for valve springs. So if i go s1's would i be leaving alot of power to be had by going with a kelford or s2 right now car is in the 400-415 hp range on VD and feels really nice, fun street car witch is what im after but id like to go into the 430-450 hp range if i could.

Bump same exact question here!! If I'm correct aren't the s1's 264 just wondering if there would be any difference with these or the kelford 272?

any of them will be good for DD

I have the kefords due to them not requiring springs/retainers

I would recommend the S2's if you plan on getting springs/retainers

If you search around a bit you'll see the BBK's that get the most out of their set ups run the S2 grind. In fact, the best performing sub 600whp cars have them listed in the mod list.

so you have the 272 kelfords with stock springs and did you incounter any phantom knock because iv seen a few cases with the kelfords. S1's are a 268 with 10.8,11mm lift wear kelfords are a even 11mm lift but 272 deration. So the s1's should give a good low-mid range power because of the lower deration. Just wonder if they would lose out up top bad to the s2's or kelfords.

ya s2's seem to be the cam of choice for 500ish power cars just wonder if the low end and street manners would be better with the s1's and not sacrifice the top to much

Everything I've heard says if you are pondering S1s you should just go straight to S2s. I run Kelfords and I'm very happy with them, but S2s are the other choice.

S2s if you can find them...

On my bbk powered IX, and my FP Black VIII I run the Kelford 272's with upgraded beehive springs on stock seats and retainers and have had nothing but good results. Recently I put together another BBK car for a friend and installed the Kelford 272's on stock springs, once again awesome results. Keep in mind I did recommend the valve springs to him to complete at a later date. I have yet to use a gsc cam, but see good results from the s2.

I was in the same boat. I was stuck between s1 or s2. I went with the s2 and havent looked back. I upgraded my springs but i stayed with the stock seats and retainers. S1 is a good choice but if you think you are going to want a bit more than go with the s2 and get a set of aftermarket springs. Either way you cannot go wrong. In the end it depends on what you want out of your car!

+1. I didn't experience any notiecable loss in the low end/mid range with the S2's. Honestly, all I noticed was strong improvements in both the mid range and top end.

have s1's wish i went straight to s2's from the start

S1s are 268s and really emphasize peak power under 7k for the most part and wicked response. S2s are 274s and definitely help make more power everywhere, but are aimed for further up the powerband. On an 8/9 the S1s will be also be invisible at idle or very very similar to stock if you want them to be. Most good tuners can make them lope if that is required. On an VIII the S2s do have a more noticeable lope, can be a challenge on a MAF if the tuner isnt familiar with the combo, but really make it sound aggressive.
