What's this I found in my sump
 

Hi all iv had another engine failure so now on rebuild no.3 but this time round someone is building the engine for me.

Anyway I was outside this morning cleaning my sump out when I knowntised a little spring sitting in the sump?? I have an AMS sump with 2 trap doors but these don't have springs on them so I'm string to wonder where it's come from.

Also there was a green rubber ring about 1cm across in there aswell, I'm starting to think weather it's something like the turbo oil seals??

Here is a picture of the spring the yellow square it's sitting on is about 1 inch across

I haven't got the rubber ring anymore as I lost it so can't put up a photo sadly.

Ummmm that would scare me if i found that in my oil sump

Valve seal ring?

Just been and looked at the head and turns out 2 of the springs are missing from around the valve stem seals :-(

What could of caused them 2 come off?? They were installed by the machine shop could they be installed incorrectly or damaged when fitted??

Could it have anything to do with the fact I have ferrea 6000 series valves on stock valve seals?? Maybe the ferrea valves are slightly thicker that stock valves???
