Steel clutch line, What's up with that???
:helpme: Is the clutch line worth upgrading. I heard it prolongs life and improves feel. What's up wit dat???!#$
|
Let me say WOW!!! I was at an evo-ny meet at pruvens dynoday. Well I was like how big of a difference can it make, let me tell you. You know exactly when the clutch will engage. The clutch peddle feels so much better it is amazing! I will be doing this as my next upgrade. Clutch feels like a 350z! Totally gets rid of the clutch problem, making shifting so damn smooth.
Serioulsy a great upgrade for the feel of the drive, I will be doing mine very very soon. |
We have the clutch line kits in stock for those of you interested in them. What it does it gets rid of the rubber line that is on the car now. Firms up the feel.
We have not changed the one on our EVO yet but have changed them on every DSM in the past we have done. Worthwhile upgrade. David Buschur www.buschurracing.com |
Exactly, I felt it on the evo and it is a huge difference!
|
Hey dave how much would something like that cost? and does it take alot of time to put in?
|
or you can drive barefoot like me and feel the clutch better :D
|
Trust me the mod is well worth the money! Easy to install and you won't have any regrets.
|
just don't take out the restrictor.....

you can just change the line right without removing the restrictor and pill right??
|

I know this has been discussed many times...
My understanding was that the "pill" was supposed to be removed when doing a SS clutch line. Am I wrong? Also, if anyone knows, what exactly is the pill and why should it be removed? |
Originally posted by YellowFever Why is it illegal to drive barefoot  :dunno: ... and what penalties would you get? Sorry for going OT Let's get back on topic -- steel clutch lines...sounds like it would firm up the feel of the clutch in the same manner as SS brake lines... |

It took about 45 minutes, that included dropping that nasty copper washer a few times on re-install, and removing the restrictor. The clutch feel is great now but it still has the abillity to grind 2nd gear if you're not careful. It is much more precise and has a more pressured feel..... still nothing close to an ACT 2700lb though, lol.
Definately should be a 1st on the list of upgrades. |
