Six speed help! Car won't go into sixth.

I've looked everywhere on the forums and can't find a complete part list.

My car drives just fine, every gear including reverse. I just don't have a sixth. From what I've read I've damaged the 5/6 hub slider. Are there any other parts I'm going to need? This is my daily, and all the parts are special order. I'm looking to get everything done as fast as possible. Just wondering if anybody else has had this issue, and remembers everything that was needed. It just seems replacing one small part's too simple.

Thanks.

I'm not to sure what happened and wants needed to fix but I do no having someone take it apart and put back togeather is prob gonna cost atleast 3-400 and then parts. I can save ya alot of time and energy I have a 6sp trans forsale. I hardly ever use 6th in mine tho were do you need it at.

It's either the 5/6 slider, or the 6th syncrho ring, or both. the slider or (sleeve) is a little expensive, the syhchro ring is much cheaper.

I've got a good trans guys that's going to charge me $250. But I'll chomp at the bit. What do you need out of your trans?

I'm aware of that. I just need to know what parts were needed. I'm assuming so far that the 5/6 slider, and the synchro. I'm also going to replace the input shaft bearing after reading more about the evo trans. I'm still hoping someone's done one recently, and knows what parts are needed. I also understand that each trans is going to be a case by case basis. I'm just looking for minimal down time.

Nobody huh? That's a little disappointing.

Well you said yourself it's a case by case basis. Your looking at a day just taking it in and out a day to have it tore down order the parts a day to put back together and a day to reinstall it. And thats if the shop you take the trans to isn't busy already. So I would say a minnium of 2 weeks prob. Also your really not gonna be able to order the parts before cause nobody really knows what the problem is till its open up.

Ok so update. I ordered the 5/6 slider, synchros, and ring. I also ordered 3rd, and fourth synchros, as well as an input shaft bearing. My goal is to have the car down two days. Hopefully I'll make my deadline! Haha

It's really not a bad idea to replace most/all synchros, these cars are 7-9 years old, & the tranny is going to be pulled anyway!. I also have a bad 5th synchro, but I going to replace all other synchros, I'm just waiting for the time to replace my clutch.
