TOB won'r grab pressure plate
I recently did a clutch job on my IX MR. Finishing up with transmission back on,transfer case, etc., I decided to start putting the wire harnesses back, plugging sensors in, re-installing intake and battery and then down pipe.
Anyways, when I put the slave cylinder back in, I notice that the TOB fork is stuck towards the passenger side of the car; thus making the slave cylinder pointless. Obviously the TOB isn't connected to the pressure plate. What did I do wrong? Ahhh this is stressful! Thanks again for all the help, you guys have been great. |
Did you push/pull the clutch fork towards the drivers side? If you haven't do so and the TOB should just pop into place in the pressure plate.

remove the slave, then pull the fork to the right, should hear a click, then put slave back on, if it doesn't click then you knocked the clip off when installed gearbox. i always clip the fork on before proceeding any further after getting the box on. do NOT pump the pedal in the current position as you will break the fork.

The clip on the pressure plate is still on, I didn't pop off during install.
I tried pulling the fork towards the driver side pretty hard, but it will not pop or lock in. I even used a c-clamp to pull it towards the passenger side with more torque then pulling it by hand. Im stressing out. |
