ACT's solution to the most common pull-type clutch issue..
ACT Releases New One-Piece Wedge Collar for Pull-Type Clutches
LANCASTER, CALIF., May 2, 2013 — People love good secrets. So, when Advanced Clutch Technology (ACT) engineers began developing a solution to the common problem with standard two-piece wedge collars found in Japanese pull-type clutches, they engineered Monoloc — a secret design too good to keep quiet about. Monoloc is a direct replacement and upgrade to the two-piece wedge collar in pull-type clutches for the Mitsubishi Evo, Subaru WRX, Subaru WRX STi and Mazda RX-7. Its one-piece construction eliminates the collar snap ring from bending or popping out of place, which typically leads to clutch failure or severe pressure plate damage. Thanks for spreading the word, and for the orders! It's been a long time coming.

Big question is it available separate from a clutch to update old clutches?

The answer is Yes! They are available on our website right now. You can type in Monoloc in the search field and it will take you right to it. Distributors have already started ordering them so they will have them in stock real soon. For recent ACT customers, we are offering an upgrade discount.
My poor HDSS disc has seen better days after 2 years of auto-x abuse and needs a new plate.. Could definitely try this out on the next swap. |
Will these include new wave washers too?
|
The real question is if the installer of the clutch will be able to get it off again!
As a consumer its easy to say "who cares as long as it doesn't pop off for me" but if they have to break into your case and take off the pressure plate bolt by bolt to get your clutch off, that is going to suck for them and they will probably charge you more hours. |
