Competition clutch twin Q's???
I have a CC twin disc in my evo 8.
I did lot of research, and I know twins are noisy. But the noise I get in my car is really weird, and 2 other evos with this clutch doesn't behave like this. Clutch holds and shifts great, no problem there. When I start the car, cold car, 1st and reverse on low speed, slipping the clutch just trying to get out of the parking lot there is a grabbing noise, really loud, people outside can hear it, until it grabs, it also engages harsh. Difficult to describe a noise with words. Also when trying to downshift it does it. After car is warmed up, It doesn't do it anymore, or only a few time on traffic lights. Is this normal? adjustment maybe? I emailed comp and Still waiting for an answer. I haven't launched yet, thinking there could be something wrong. Thanks for your help |
it is a cintered iron type material, it will make those noises and come and go depending with temperature.. most other clutches that seem the same are different and are actually cerametallic.. the cintered iron takes more abuse on the account of the harshness and noises.. so in short yea as long as engagement point is the same and shifts and drives fine you are ok.

^^THIS
I too have the comp clutch twin disc. Pretty noisy when clutch pedal is pushed in as I expected it would. Typical twin disc noise though. Definitely not as noisy as a quartermaster though |
