Lifters still ticking after bleeding.?
I need some help here guys.
I recently picked up a Evo IX RS, it had a minor lifter ticking noise and it was starting to bug me. I bleed the lifters following the bleeding procedure (I didn't soak them in diesel to clean them). I started up the engine I let the engine idle for 30 secs, then reved up the engine to 3k then back to idle (repeated the procedure 10 times) and now my lifters make more noise. :crap: I was going to put in the GSC no-tick lifters but though id clean these, but now I'm not sure what to do.?:crap: Engine idles and runs fine and no CEL. Are you sure it's lifter tick?
Most people mistake injector noise for lifter noise.... It could also be bend valves or a bearing in its way out. |
You have to drive it after bleeding the lifter to get them fully pumped up. My car has always had some valvetrain noise. Kinda normal for these engines..

Its a 4g63 they're always ticky.
I know us guys who use to own eclipse use to used revised 3g lifters but, they still get a noisy after awhile. You shouldn't be able to hear them in your car but, with the hood open sounds super loud. |
