Left inner axle won't push in all the way
 

I just received my Shep t case rebuild with the Wavetrac diff. My inner axle won't go in all the way. I've been banging it on pretty hard. It's a brand new oem inner axle too. Has anybody else also have any problems installing axles into an aftermarket diff???

Make sure the circlip isnt damaged. I know you said its a brand new axle but those can get a little finicky if they get distorted. Mine has been out numerous times now and the last time I was putting one side back in it fought me. I won but it wasnt without a struggle. Good luck!

i just put mine in a few months ago...
my clips looked fine.
put some grease on them and all mine took was a firm hit with a large hammer (using a piece of wood in between... of course).

I’m having the same issue, wavetrac, brand new dss front axle, brand new oem half shaft and clip

assuming you c clip is ok.. and its greased up....

sometime you can put the axle in the diff... then put it in the front hub, then grab the rotor with both hands and with a swift motion pull it out and push it in real hard....


i dont know if that makes sense.. .but it works sometimes

i've found that making sure the c-clip opening is pointing down (so the c-clip fits better into the groove) makes it easier to get the axles to seat.

Both these worked with not taking no for an answer. Thanks guys.
