Evo 9 Mr ticking/knocking sound

I just recently did an oil change about 2
weeks ago the car sat for a week and I drove it yesterday and it had a knock at idle but I did drive it fine the day before. Was a little hard to tell if it continued as the Rpms got higher but will trouble shoot that today. Just wondering if anyone can help based on the video! Thank you

That sounds like a vacuum leak? Have you checked all the hoses around the intake manifold?

Sound file doesn't work. Maybe lifters?

I am going to check the hoses today and make sure there are no leaks. Thanks for the reccomendation it’s something! I had a friend mention lifters as well but have to wait to pull the cover

Not lifters, not a vacuum leak, it sounds like a child's push toy. If I was to offer a guess I'd say maybe a spun rod bearing, the bearing completely gone and the piston hitting the head.

All the spark plugs and coil packs are tight?

I am going to try and diagnose this weekend on the rack but I appreciate all the suggestions 👍

I had a mustang make a similar noise once. The threads in the head, where the spark plugs thread in, literally tore out. Air escaping from the cylinder, through the spark plug hole, sounded kinda like this. Just throwing it out there, just in case.
Do you have a stethoscope? They are invaluable!

Another check, simple to do, and will somewhat eliminate the worse case scenario, is to pull the oil filter, cut it open and examine the pleats for metal particles. If no metal, probably not a bearing.

So I think I found the problem seems like one of the spark plugs is loose. Cannot get the plug/wire to fully go on the spark plug. I was thinking of ordering new plugs tonight!

Heres a video for reference!!!

Glad you found it. That sound is slightly nerve wracking!

I had a feeling. Any damage to the threads or plug?
