Billet TC Housing! Magnus Motorsports is the Business!
How long has this thing been out??! Looks like a new wave of engineering for the evo 8/9 ACD or non-ACD! If this could be done with the transfer case and make the "entire part" 450% stronger, it can happen FOR THE MR 6 SPEED! Any thoughts or experience with this awesome part?

$3,850.
Oof. I feel like this definitely mostly just needed as a max effort drag racing part. |
@Dallas J how big is your CNC machine? :D

Oof. I feel like this definitely mostly just needed as a max effort drag racing part. If someone built up a 6 speed transmission case like this which included shaft supports in the middle to prevent flexing, and a larger sump, one could theoretically throw in the Albins gears and call it strong AF. More custom work would be needed, but not impossible. |
Oh man, I can only imagine the dev cost that went through building that or building a full trans case. You would definitely want to be looking into forging a rough shape first here. But this kinda stuff really makes me want a UMC750ss.
Reality is though I'll probably just get a 4th axis for the VF and a lathe with live tooling and sub to get these turned parts knocked out better/quicker. |

It took a lot out of them i'm sure. Do you take contract work on the side? If I had a 4 or 5 axis CNC I would spend the next week learning to program it and do some side business for small start ups etc. That UMC750ss is a $200,000.00 machine. One could probably CNC every single car part. From suspension components, to rims, to engine blocks, to TC  |

But Im pretty happy with the customer service I get from local guys |

The 200k isn't the most expensive part. You'll spend more than that on tooling, software, and other consumables within the first couple of years.

Yes this is very true. We have 5 Haas machines and I swear we need to hire the Haas mechanic full time. Parts for those things are not cheap
Have you tried checking the prices on some of the other brands for parts? This is just a spendy game in general. |
Amazing work. Is this the production piece or a prototype(proof of concept)?
|
This looks like non ACD transfer?

This is the production piece, exactly what you get when you buy it. Seems that they don't include a tail shaft housing. Would nice to have one of those CNC'd but it won't add any significant strength. |
