Maybe I hydrolocked years ago and now won't start?
Okay, so years ago now I rolled my car and it sat on it's side over night. Then sitting since waiting for rebuild. That is now mechanically complete.
Yesterday I tried turning it over for the first time since crash in 2015. I was trying to figure out immobilizer issue which is now good but car didn't start or try to fire. This got me on the fuel/spark/sensor ride which has me here now. I didn't know hydrolock was a thing, now I do. My plan is to pull plugs and crank to evacuate/inspect anything in cylinders. Is this the proper step? I gotta pull plugs to check spark anyway so figured this was a logical thing to do. I dunno how to make the video post but here's the car turning over, does it sound like I've destroyed any internals? |
Nope that sounds like normal cranking to me i'd check fuel/spark/sensors any codes?
Just because a car sat on it's side doesn't mean it hydro locked. Hydrolocking is sucking in water. So unless you fell into a half full ditch... Not sure you can "hear" hydro lock cranking tho. |
so the car hasnt been run for "years"

? Engine spins freely by hand off the socket thing in passenger wheel well, even easier to spin without plugs so it's not toast, but it's not sparking or firing injectors(fuel to rail yes) so I suspect the crankshaft position sensor might be toast. That's why I'm here looking for advice from guys who know about this. My first car rebuild and this is new to me. Here's a vid of no sparking, tried 2 sets of coils stock and DIY yaris cop https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PRTA...ature=youtu.be |

Depends on he part, chassis hasn't had an engine since 2011 and I had my crash 2015. So yeah, years, about 5 now. I got a build thread that tells the story, now it's time to get it running again.

Then I'm thinking about it and would blown coil fuse cause no injector firing as well? Are they related? Serious, tryna learn here. |
