High speed driving (NOT racing related)
So I was watching the Cannonball Europe DVD yesterday and on average the guys were driving probably 120mph+. There were a variety of cars but the dominant ones were the M3 and Porsche turbo (GT2). If thrown in that situation, could an Evo sustain those speeds for long periods and have juice when needed at those speeds?

Not that I would sustain an Evo to those conditions but I am curious about the endurance of the car.
I suspect you will have an answer after the 25 Hours of Thunderhill. Vishnu will have an Evo there. Sustained at 120-130 should be less difficult than on and off full throttle acceleration for 25 hours.

OK the great thing about german/italian cars is that they can go 200 MPH for 24 hours ( LEMANS) and the JAPS cant the GT2 can smile at 160 mph for 2 5 10 hours straight and an EVO cant sorry i got an evo and i love it very very much and the POSSIBILITIES are limitless but when it comes to high speeds and time it cant hang with my S4(which is for sale) LOOK no further then GERMAN OR ITALIAN if u want speed for a loong time

You could run 160 mph on 4g63 all day long. Your manifold and your turbos gonna turn bright red, but if you don't care about making your car last, sure, it's possible to go 160mph for a long time.
When I say long time, I don't mean the whole day. Eventually, somethings gonna break.

Here are a few things to take note of: The EVO is designed for rally races and tarmac at speeds mostly at 100mph depending on conditions etc... It is pointless to for Mitsu to spend money, time, and effort to design a EVO that can stay at 160mph speeds for a prolonged period of time, I am sure that it can go to those speeds for amounts of time, but it dosent make sense to have it at those speeds. On the other hand German/Italian cars are designed to be high HP, High RPM cars, that have aerodynamics and handling capabilities for those kind of speeds, and for them to be sustained for long amounts of time. As well as a place to use these cars, like on the Autobahn. In America there is no point to be even going that fast, unless it is a legal race situation.
