MR too fast? its a 13 second car... that aint that fast. if he was turning at the same rate in a 15 sec honda civic, the same or worse would have happened.

the problem is he probably unknowingly trail braked the car which is what sent him into oversteer. if you are an inexperienced driver, you're supposed to have all your braking done before the turn. stepping on the brake mid- turn is about the worse thing to do when going fast. the weight on the rear tires unload and that's what starts the slide. the natural thing to do for an inexperienced driver is to then completely let go of the gas which just makes things even worse. what you want to do is apply the right amount of throttle gently and countersteer your car straight again, if its really getting supersideways.

just kind of an ironic story, so i can see how it be open season on the guy. but realistically as someone who couldn't care less who bought who what kind of car, most of you talking **** just seem like a bunch of jealous kids who didn't get anything for christmas. fact is, some people are just better off than others, and if that somehow upset you... grow up! most of you are beyond your twenties!

How old is that kid? He barely looks old enough to drive let alone have a car that he obviously can't handle.

Hey there,

Part of growing up is admitting you made a mistake and learning from it. You did that quite well and I think you have a good attitude about your accident. So you can feel good about yourself.

Also, part of growing up is taking crap from people and letting it fall by the wayside because only you know the full story and you know what kind of person you are. I don't know you either and you can either take my advice or not but please don't let us internet freaks affect you - stay true to yourself, your family, and your friends. Most of us are probably jealous because you get to own an MR at such a young age and we may NEVER get to own one - regardless of whether you got it yourself or someone gave it to you.

It could be just bad luck that you crashed the MR so early on and the fact that you are young and showing the car off in pictures (which some of us would do too) you become an easier target. Just try to ignore us - get the car back into good shape and learn from the experience. As long as you are OK and alive - that's all that matters.

I have not seen you post one punk-like thread, which says a lot about the other folks that have already posted on this one single thread, so I would say you are already a lot more mature than others here. Good luck!

Brent

That's what happens when you give a irresponsible teen a high HP car. It's not bad enough he got an Evo, let alone the MR.

Dad should have bought you a used Civic, son. Live and learn.

Hey, you guys should lay off him abit. Pretty much any car this would have happened. I live in the rochester area too.

He was doing 45 in 4th gear..He wasn't racing, he wasn't speeding, he wasn't showing off... just normal driving

If you have EVER lived in rochester , over the past few weeks the deer have been EVERYWHERE. I've personally almost plastered about 10 on my car in the past 2 weeks alone. It's thier mating season, and the weather is screwy here right now. They randomly jump out into the road with little distance between it and the car. Most of the time the deer also just look at the car coming, and don't move.

It's seriously hardly avoidable, and happens in split seconds. Claiming you know what you SHOULD do is different that actually DOING in less than split seconds.

A deer jumped out in front of my dad in his blazer, there was no time to react in anyway. The deer got plastered and took a chunk of my dads trucks front end. MY dad was doing LESS THAN THE 40mphh speed limit..........

It's seriously hard to avoid deer around here regardless of your skill.

Just because he is a 'teen' and has a nice car doesn't instantly mean its ALL his fault. You live in rochester in suburb areas[ where RIT is ] and you'll see.

Neither do I. Judging from his pics and how many he took and uploaded, he seems a bit cocky. Hopefully, he'll learn from this and be more modest. Just be glad that nobody got hurt. I think that the Evo is way too much car for a teen to drive. The capabilities of the car combined with all its publicized performance, plus a teen's lack of experience and attitude of invincibility, equals an accident waiting to happen.
