no launch rev limiter on 05 RS

Finally got enough miles on my 05 RS today, and just for grins brought it to a stop and tried cracking the throttle to see how the launch rev limiter worked, and to my surprise there is none. :>) I thought all 05's were supposed to get the rev limiter. Mine goes right to 7000 at a dead stop with clutch depressed, and the car in first gear. And before anyone says that it is an 04, it's not. It has the acd switch, and the aluminum roof. Any one else out there know about this.

Aren't there any 05 RS owners out there that can confirm this? Or is mine just a fluke.

I guess know the 5-speed in stronger than the diffs and axles .

I actually love the RS. I wish it came with the MR setup with bilisteins, BBS, Black wing, and abs.

the '05 RS has to be an awesome car, having ACD, aluminum roof, and everything. How are you liking it markdaddio?

correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't an RS with the MR stuff you mentioned...

AN MR (less the 6spd)?

So you bought one hunnh? Are you going to run it in ESP? If so I will be very interested in what you do setup-wise

Alan P "one of your former competitors in DS, who has an '04 RS but will continue axing the Type R"

OK, plus HID's, Vortex genertator, and Variable wipers.

Mechanically they're pretty much the same.

So far I really like the car, too new to really get on it though. Only got 400 miles on it. Right now I no plans to autocross the car. I really like the fact that it is built with only one thing in mind. (with the exception of the a/c of course, and I would have deleted that if I could have.) I just think the RS will do well holding its value, and is a blast to drive.

Only the MR 6-speed has the 5k rpm rev limiter to prevent drivetrain damage.
