qestion about Evo options

I am looking to get a Evo and have some questions. I hope you guys on this board can help me out.

First, what is the major differences between the MR and regular EvoVIII, besides the tranny and some exterior differences?

Seconds, there are some many options for the EVOIII and I would like to know if they are worth it or not. Or, maybe someone else can get these parts cheaper?
I am considering the following options:

Air Dam $ 231

Brake Cooling Air Guides $ 149

Door Sill Scuff Plate Kit $ 92

Strut Tower Brace – Front $ 422

Strut Tower Brace – Rear $ 385

Hyperground Cables $ 219

Instrument Cluster Surround $ 75

Thanks for helping.

They have different suspension set-up, MR has bilsteins, sport gauges, aluminum shift knob and e-brake handle. For the options, get the brake cooling guides, rear upper strut bar and the grounding cable kit.

I wouldn't get either strut tower bar because you can get aftermarket pieces much cheaper that are probably better quality and lighter. I dunno about that cluster surround, looks kinda cheap from what I've seen.

This is a great information to me. I knew the OEM parts would be more expensive and not as good as some aftermarket parts. Thanks for confirming this for me!

i wouldnt do any of them. you can buy aftermarket parts just as easily, and they are probably the same if not better quality, also they will save you a bundle. those are all dealer installed, so they tend to charge you whatever for them. i would rather buy the car as is, stock. the guage cluster i thought i wanted but after i saw one at the dealer with one, i said no way. bad location, hard to read, and kind of chinsy. just my $.02

^ I concur. I wouldn't get any of those, it's crappy and you could get the aftermarket parts for 1/3 of the price.

There is threads on air dam people made as well as brake ducts. with $300 + you could get the DC sport Titanium strut brace which weighs next to nothing.

$120 you could get the cusco triangle rear brace.

Grounding kit could be had with $90.

Instrument cluster surrouns, you could paint the thing for $4. or have it measured and have a laser cut company laser cut it for $30 out of a thin stock aluminum.

Door sill scuff kit, that's really up to you.

Thanks a lot for helping guys.
I went to the dealer today and they gave me a horrible service. I requested for a test drive last week and my sale person said that I could test drive one today. But, the sales manager came up to us today and said "If you want a test drive, you would have to put down a $500 deposit."

Anyway, can someone recommend a good Mitsu. dealer in NJ?

Thanks guys.
