Evo VIII Specs.. only 233hp for europe...

Does this mean we are getting 233hp? Theirs is detuned for emmisions, so ours may be detuned to same range for emmisions reasons...

Here is the article... STI vs EvoVIII

I wouldnt be suprised if our specs are the same or even less that that. I dont know much about european emissions, but I know we have some of the lowest tolerances for emissions of anywhere. Nothing removing a few cats wont fix.

We are promised a 250+hp and as of now it looks like it's going to be 275hp. Remember the euro WRX has less hp than our U.S. version.

At lease they have active diffs.

Pretty old news. It's December now those are probably inaccurate.

Plus that story and those pics are months old... they didn't know jack about what kind of car was coming to UK no more than we did. Pure Speculation as usual.

All current news sources are saying much much higher... and even though its all probably speculation still I trust the new speculation more than the old.

One thing to remember, RalliArt UK produces it's own versions of the EVO for the UK market, the FQ series for example.
It would be no great deal for them to use CBU's and use chaper components and less tuning to get to a cheaper EVO and then offer different trim levels with more bells and whistles at a higher cost (such as the FQ series, extreme series, etc)

Mitsu says 271 hp, so I wouldn't worry.

Where have Mitsu themselves actually stated 271? I thought the only official number was still 250+ (even though most other sources are saying 270 ballpark).

One of the Regional Managers from Mitsu to me 271, which was still pending at the time. He went on to say that official disclosure would be released at the L.A. Auto Show. So you see, even Mitsu employees are still in the dark about certain things...

That was from a rep at the sema show I've talked to a while back. He told me probably over 270hp and 271 as of now and it could be higher. No AYC and no comments on ACD b/c at that time testing were still being done and probably a last minute thing. Very similar recarios and he mentioned leather was the one was shown to him ., brembos and at that time he said ours has a slightly different bumper than the JDM. Our intercooler is slightly off set to fit the beams? I'm puzzled about his comments but time will tell to see what happens. So far most of his statement match the magazine stuff now, so i'm guess most were correct.
