I know the exact hose pepsi is talking about, it goes from the t-stat housing to the turbo and would be super easy to tap into just like he said. I'm going to use the same line when I install my gauges...

Why not just disengage the sensor from the dash indicator and attach it to the aftermarket gauage. Dan did this for me up at Buschur, he just connected it to the AM one. I wasn't expecting it since I was deployed and told a buddy of mine to grab a box of guages I had left when they installed and tuned the EMS.

unless i'm mistaken, and i've been known to be, are all temp senders calibrated the same?

I'd stick with your gauge's unit.

Also, if it gets that hot, you'll get the idiot "OVER-TEMP" light, that i'm sure is somewhere on the dash (don't normally look for it ) and an idiot light on top of what you're doing, isn't all a bad thing.

You are absolutely correct. Not all sensors are the same. They each have a different calibration curve, and your gauge's control box is specifically designed for the sensor that's included with it. So I would also recommend avoiding the OEM sensor-tapping idea.

Are you back yet? I'd like to try your approach, as it seems that my GReddy adapter order hasn't even shipped yet, and I'd really like to get another sensor installed... Thanks!

So I spoke with 42 Draft Designs and they will be releasing a water temp adaptor for the Evo shortly. It will be an OEM T-Stat housing with an additional fitting TIG-welded on for an aditional temp sensor. That should solve all the problems, price will be ~$50 from what I've been told.
