must be your headlight cover turned yellow.

That or you're running it with your fog lights.

no, you can't "adjust" the hid, you could change the bulb and ballast to cooler color but that's pia.

Check your headlight and if it's not your headlight, see the dealer, or goto a tuner shop.

4500 isn't really quite blue, its more yellow than blue for HID standard.

I hear some EVOs come with this great thing where you can go back to the dealer and they will fix broken stuff on your new car

If you're talking about warranty, he may not have one. I'm almost out of my warranty, but what warranty?

So far, the dealers fcked up one other thing every time I goto fix something.

Stock '03 EVO HIDs are rated to be yellowish white. Only certain angles do you see any white/blue. I never saw any purple. From other stories for bad ballasts, the HIDs turn red/dark purple. I think most of those owners were fixed under warranty. Good luck.

4300-4500k usually is yellowish white...mostly white....but in some instances can look like a bright halogen....

the projector could tint it a bit blue or purple...depending on the angle....but mainly white...

Here are some pics of my buddy's 03...with upgraded HID bulbs in stock projector....(before and after shots)

there is a slight difference in color...stock is roughly 4300-4500k.....these after markets were about 6000k......dont' know where he got them, though......

both pics show his HID foglight upgrade as well......

anyhow....it's a huge pain to change the stock D2 bulbs....gotta take out the whole front clip....but not hard....just time consuming.....

hope this helps....

I like the HID foglight upgrade...hrm...more things to do.

Back on-topic, I have an 03, and I don't think mine are yeller...I'll have to look more closely now, but they've always seemed pretty white/blue to me.

Thank you all!
I guess I will have to go to dealership for replacement.
But they'v always tried to avoid these kind of things. I wonder if they will say " It's still working. why do you need to change it?"
Most Mitchu dealerships seem like they're trying not to help their customers.

How did you notice that the lights changed color? Are you sure it isn't all in your head?

I have heard that HID blubs 'fade' before they burn out. So if what you are seeing is real, you might want to change the bulb.
