You have got to be joking right?
Hey everyone,
Well yesterday I recieved My ACT clutch from "OPTAUTO". I came home, opened the package and to my suprise found the pressure plate package opened! Thats not the worst part.... The worst part is The plate has Hole's drilled into the edges of it. Its almost like someone put it to a drill press. My dealer (who is installing the clutch) said someone was either trying to lighten it or alter the balance. WTF is this! I am so pissed. How does this happen? The ****** warehouse dude didnt notice this? For goodness sake I got a metal splinter just from looking at it. So now It has to be shipped to them before they will ship out a new one. In return means i don't have my car for another 4/5 days. WHY ME!!!? BLJKHBVKJHBV LKFCJHVBLJNZB XLZKJBN:ZKZNSPOZ)(*U_)(*U

Drilled hole is normal, not all the way through right? I think this is to balance it, my ACT pressure plate had them in it and the package was sealed when I got it. I have had it on for 5,000 miles and it hasn't caused me any problems, certainly doesn't feel out of balance.
I'll see if any of the pictures I have of it show the drilled part.

Inix,
Get happy. Those are balancing holes, which indicate that your vendor actually give a **** about the quality of their merchandise. No pressure plate comes out of the stamping die balanced, they must be balances after the fact.

Thanks guys for all the support. I called ACT and yea your right. They are for balancing. It just looked very strange to me. I'm no mechanic. On my dealers defense, he knew what it was for, they just wanted to know who did the balancing...
